Mulberry silk, silk blends and polyester satins — from occasion wear and brocade to linings and decorative interiors.
This collection covers two things buyers often conflate: real silk, and the satin weave. Silk is a fibre; satin is a construction that can be woven from silk, polyester or viscose. We supply both, and we always state which you are being quoted.
In real silk we handle mulberry silk in habotai, crepe de chine, dupion, chiffon and organza, along with silk-cotton and silk-viscose blends. In satin we supply polyester and viscose satins, duchesse, charmeuse and jacquard brocades — including the metallic-thread brocades used for occasion wear and traditional dress in this region.
Silk is priced by momme weight and is sensitive to water spotting and abrasion. For high-wear or frequently laundered end uses we will usually recommend a polyester satin and explain the difference in handle, so the decision is yours and made with the facts.
