Egyptian extra-long-staple cotton is a genuinely different raw material, not a marketing term. The longer fibre spins to finer, stronger and more even yarn, which is why the highest-count shirting, the best thobe broadcloth and premium hotel percale come from here.
We use this corridor when a buyer specifically needs 100s count and above, a very smooth handle, or the whiteness and body that fine two-ply cotton gives after starching and pressing. For thobe cloth in particular it is worth the premium.
Two constraints to plan around: minimum quantities are higher than India, and genuine ELS supply is limited relative to how often the name is used. We will confirm the actual origin of the yarn before quoting rather than passing on a claim we have not checked.
